Uruguay Hunting Outfitters - Los Gauchos Outfitters

los gauchos outfitters

Los Gauchos started in Argentina back in 2001 with a mixed bag including Argentina goose hunting, duck hunting, and Perdiz hunting. After successful seasons and lots of Los Gauchos fans and talks around the dinner table about duck hunting, Los Gauchos set out for Uruguay.

Uruguay is full of rice farms and fields, especially the northeast part of Uruguay. While the northwest caters to Uruguay dove hunters, the opposite side of the country - Uruguay ducks flock throughout the season May to September. A small lodge that became the Los Gauchos Uruguay duck hunting club was remodeled and true duck hunters came for the duck hunting in Uruguay. Blinds that took about 10 minutes to get set up and ducks just coming down right into the decoys, Uruguay became a duck hunting legend for Los Gauchos Outfitters

Now the Uruguay Duck Hunting Club is enhanced with a much more comfortable lodge on a private rice farm . Double occupancy, private bathrooms, large living area, satellite tv, internet service and duck hunting that is 5 to 15 minutes from the lodge is the main benefit of the Rio Branco Uruguay duck hunting lodge.

From the hunting journal of one of our most valued clients--Mr. Prater Gray

My Uruguay duck hunting trip with Los Gauchos was far and away the best waterfowl hunting trip I have ever taken.

I shot more ducks in one day duck hunting in Uruguay than I had in years of hunting in Texas. So often the hype excees the reality, but in this case one can simply not put enough hype into it.

Hunting uruguay was the best decision I have made since I booked my first Argentina duck Hunting trip back in 1998. Dove Hunting In South America...now that is a whole different enchilada! Or I guess down here it would be an empanada....Argentina dove hunting is pure excess.

I am glad that I did it, but once was enough for me. I shot more than 1000 birds per day--two days in a row--and on the third day I did not even go out to the field. I was simply too exhausted. I have not killed another dove since then, and that was five years ago.

My friends have invited me to go dove hunting with them in Texas, but I just refuse. It would only be a letdown after Argentina dove hunting.

I enjoyed my Argentina duck hunting trip far more...and when I write again in the journal it will be after my upcoming Uruguay dove hunting trip. Ahhh....what a life!
